2010 in review

So WordPress apparently has this new function that sends you an email about your ‘stats’ at the end of each year. I skimmed it and was astonished by the ‘Fresher than ever’ rating of blog health. Was it a sign? Anyway, here’s the exciting high level summary for you to mull over, like wine.

(For those who don’t want to read more, the bottom line of this post is: I intend to post a review soon, so be excited!)

Due to unexpected demand, I have written out a rough outline of the chords to Kotoba. These may be slightly confusing…but I am too lazy atm to write out a full transcription. If you really can’t work it out and you desperately want me to transcribe it fully, please comment and i’ll see what i can do.

Please note I have added in some chord translations for the confusing ones (sorry I fail at proper chord names…they are so confusing!!!)

Tatta Hitotsu no Omoi

Have recently been considering starting this site up again, but am not sure if I should due to my apparent inability to update regularly (if at all). In the meantime, I discovered this review in the drafts section, and decided to publish it. Please excuse the sketchiness and informality of the reviewing, mostly I just really like this song.

Performed by: KOKIA
Lyrics: KOKIA
Music: KOKIA
Anime: Gunslinger Girl -Il Teatrino-

KOKIA’s 17th single.

Lyrics can be found here, including translation, thanks to atashi (not translated by me).

Minami-ke

Has anyone been watching Minami-ke ~okawari~ lately?

I loved the first season greatly. I liked Chiaki. I ship Fujioka/Kana. I liked the beginning of the op. I liked the whole anime’s approach and animation and vague plot and characters and humour.

Thus I was sad when it ended, and delighted to hear that there was a second season.

(Yeah, I know I’m a bit late in complaining about okawari when it came out ages ago, but I’ve been busy.)

THERE ARE MANY ISSUES i HAVE WITH OKAWARI.

Some of these are timing and humour, which i somehow feel have gotten worse. I do not know.

However, the biggest problem i have with it is the character design. compare…

before. <333

It used to look ok

WHAT HAPPENED

CHIAKI IS BLONDE.

I mean, what the hell???? I liked her original hair colour so much. And like, she just looks so retarded now. I find it very awful… very shocking.

Haruka also looks somehow weird.

Even Kana, who I think has best retained her appearance from the first season, has slightly skewed features.

Yes. I have issues with their eyes.

and Fujioka is blonde also. I have issues with that.

I don’t know. I’m not sure if it’s only me who feels this way, but it’s depressing me.

I liked minami-ke. the question is… will okawari be able to redeem itself enough to overcome the fact that CHIAKI IS BLONDE??

Only time will tell.

(I promise I’ll write a review soon!! )

Fail.

I’m really sorry, everyone.

I’ve been…busy. Yes. I suddenly have a lot of work, and haven’t had that much time to write reviews.

I’ve been intending to review Rie Fu’s Anata ga Koko ni Iru Riyuu for a while, but kept getting distracted.

I can’t promise, but I’ll definitely try to review something as soon as i get some free time! <33

Meanwhile, go and watch some ayaka videos on youtube. They’re really amazing. Ayaka is so amazing live ❤ and non-live, of course, but she’s even more amazing live.

I really like For Today, Eien no Monogatari and Kimi no Power to Otona no Furi and Shalala and Mikazuki of course, and Jewelry Day and Winding Road. Basically, most of her singles are pretty good and some of her album songs, too. My friend bought her album – First Message – for me in Japan ❤ I also bought KOKIA’s album Remember me. That’s good too, I like it. Power of Smile <33333

So, lucky me. Now I don’t just have Utada Hikaru’s album in my collection (I don’t even know why I bought it. I think I listened to it, like, once, then got sick of her annoying voice. Sorry to all those fans out there, but I find her voice really annoying) but also ayaka and KOKIA’s too.

Support ayaka’s rise to fame as she conquers the world with her amazing voice and short stature~

and yes. Reviews are coming soon.

I am not a great fan of game music; however, as many around me enjoy gaming and its music, I could not help but become acquainted with some of the game music around. In particular, from a young age I used to observe Final Fantasy gamers. Yes. Indeed, I once tried to play FF8. However, due to my lack of any sort of gaming skill whatsoever, with help I only managed to get to the third disc before I gave up.

singing.

Dearly beloved.

We have gathered here today to celebrate…yes, to celebrate the fact that I have entered in a singing competition. It’s called AFM, which stands for Anime Fan Music, I think >< I hope that’s right. Anyway.

I suddenly feel nervous, but whatever.

Visit the competition here. You can listen to all sixteen or so entries there are, including mine – Brand New Breeze from La Corda d’Oro, originally by Kanon. (Read my review of it here.)

So. Go. And I promise I’ll write a new review really soon. In fact, it should probably come up before this post, because I started it a while ago. I feel a little guilty for missing the one year anniversary of starting this site, but I don’t care that much…it’s only 2 weeks or so late >_> and it’s not like I’m a very reliable updater anyway.

Well then.

 Please vote for me ❤

Unless you want to vote for someone else XD in which case, I completely understand.

Second ending theme to Full Metal Alchemist.

I would just like to point out that i do not “share” lyrics. I do not post lyrics without a purpose. It is always to review the song in question. If there is no review there, only lyrics, this means that I have not finished the review, as is always stated at the top of the post.
