NEW: rough chords transcribed by me – Kotoba [rough chords]
ANNOUNCEMENT! There have been many requests for the transcription of this song. Please note – I have NOT made a transcription, nor do know where to find one. All I have done is written out the chords, which are linked just above. You should be able to work out how to play the accompaniment from the chords, as the accompaniment is basically chords anyway. Please do not continue asking me to send you the sheet music as I do not have any : (
I understand just chords may not be enough to work out how to play the song fully if you are lazy. Please don’t say you are lazy! : (
..
kotoba wa kotoba dakara kokoro hanbun mo tsutanenai kara<
Someone tell me. WHO IS Izumi Katou? Is she famous? If not, why? And I would like to know who Mi is, too. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places, but they don’t seem to be in the media at all.
Ima kimi ga ii kaketa kotoba ga
yubi saki ni sotto orita kita
nanimo iwana kute ii yo
tsunaida yubi wo gyutto atatamete
br /> the words you were just about to say
fell softly onto my fingertips
you don’t have to say anything
i’ll clasp your hands tightly and warm it up
because words are words, i can’t express half of the feelings in my heart
The song opens with a repeated piano chord (like a C Major chord, but with a suspended 2nd replacing the 3rd), as well as a C in the bass to stabilise things. Wow, the accompaniment for this is quite easy, i just realised! Maybe i will transcribe it >_> If you want me to, please comment and ask.
The intro is quite short and simple, the same chord repeated over 2 bars. Katou Izumi (Izumi Katou? I don’t know which is her first name. Let’s call her the singer.) starts to sing over the same chord. Her voice is very clear, but not really that blendy. I must applaud her for singing by herself for a whole song and not covering up her flaws with lots of instrumental backing *coughKOTOKOcough* no, that’s not fair, I’ve only heard one KOTOKO song. Anyway, I can’t really identify any flaws in the singer’s voice. It’s not overly high, unlike some singers, but also not that low. The main feature is the extreme clarity and control of…well, everything, pitch, rhythm, expression. Some jpop singers shout, or vary their voices overly (Utada Hikaru, I feel), or kind of whisper so that you think, “is this really singing?” But I don’t feel this way at all about Izumi Katou. Listening to her voice, I think that this is really singing. She doesn’t seem to have extreme range, unless she just doesn’t use it in this song, but it’s a beautiful, poignant song. Yes so anyway.
A song about words. Hmm, I like the “kotoba wa…kotoba dakara” line. It’s somehow, exactly right.
setsuna kute modokashi kute yuuyake ga futari wo tsutsunde yuku
komiageru mune no omoi kokoro ga itai yo
it’s so wrenching and irritating as the sunset engulfs the two of us
my heart aches from all the feelings welling up inside of me
Somehow, I can’t see Izumi Katou being very famous and performing at concerts. Her voice is suited to small things. I think this song should be used for music therapy to calm down people.
Lyrics: so Bokura Ga Ita! ❤ yay. So, this is the highest it goes, up to a C. But, you would still need great control to perform this, since, as i said before, no extreme backing to cover it up! Like, um, an unblemished flower…or dictionary.
A short break, and then onwards.
moshi kimi ga tabibito ni nattara
dore gurai kimi wo matteru darou
kisetsu ga kawaru sono tabi ni
kioku ga usuragu koto ga atte mo
dareka wo konna fuu ni kokoro ippai de aisenai kara
if you were to become a traveler
would i be able to wait for you as i do now?
as the seasons change,
even if our memories are to fade
i wouldn’t be able to love someone with all my heart like this
a little bit of drums, to add to the atmosphere.
mamorirai taisetsu na kimi
itsu datte futari wa hitori ja nai
kono mune ga kowaresou de
furete hoshii yo
i want to protect the precious you
the two of us are never alone
my heart feels so fragile
and i want you to touch it
Oops, strings, if i’m not mistaken! so it’s not only piano after all. Oh well, strings aren’t necessary.
setsuna kute modokashi kute kaerenai kono mama aruiteitai
yubisaki ni kanjiteiru kokoro no kotoba wo
it’s so wrenching and irritating that i can’t go home;
i want to keep walking like this
i feel the words from your heart on my fingertips
Back to the starting chords for the ending, with guitar added this time. Can an ending really last for more than 30 seconds? Answer: yes. but it goes so fast, you hardly notice. She sings constantly for most of 3 minutes, 34 seconds… (Why am I so incoherent today? Gosh.)
This song slows you down and makes you think about things, or at least listen. She has a strangely addictive voice, suited to soundtracks to enhance the mood. It’s vaguely childish, but not really. I wonder what it sounds like when she talks?
SO. The worst review ever? I just don’t know what to say. The song is good, though.
I love this song,it’s so sweeet.
i really like this song…especially when it was song in the final episode where yano aboard the train…truly saddening

i love the song..even though i don’t understand it at first (of course im not a japanese) this song touched me much..can’t help not to cry..after that i look for the lyrics..hoho!! really suits the melody..nice song!
Yes, this song is really amazing!
While watching the last episode of Bokura ga Ita while playing this song at the end really made me cry. Especially when I tried reading the lyrics, it just made it worse! This song is so depressing. But I don’t regret that I watched the anime though. I knew the ending would suck big time. I really don’t like that kind of endings but I still watched it. The whole thing! It was worth the watching.
can you make label the lyrics with the chords so i might be able to play it?
or just send it to me
thanks
